Sparking Sake Found Me
Birthday celebration at Three Muses on Frenchmen Street.
New Orleans, LA
I turned 45 years old yesterday.
First, I want to say how upset I am that in my 45 years, I have never had sparkling sake until I landed in New Orleans. Now I really need to get to Japan to indulge a bit.
Other than the yumminess of sparkling sake, I spent a good chunk of the day at the spa getting a facial and a massage. I haven't had a service done since 2019... and I have missed it.
Since this is still birthday week, I usually take time to think about life and come up with some profound thoughts. This year, I have none.
I mean getting old is interesting. The body does odd things and the eyesight is going in and out. Outside of that, this is probably the most settled I have ever felt. I am not stressed. I am living a life I want to live. I am going on adventure. And I get to feel at peace for the first time. Which is an unfortunate revelation.
As the kids my say... I am probably living in my privileged, soft era.
I have the privilege to roam around in an RV with a guy I really like and see places I want to see. I am also embracing the soft life and not letting the crazy outside of my bubble bother me.
So for this 45th trip around the sun, I can simply safe life is good.
