Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument
During our 2020 road trip through the southwest, we decided to take a drive down to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in Ajo, AZ. This desert park, sitting on the US border, has unique cactus structures that are photo worthy.
Up until this point, I have never heard of Organ Pipe, but I am glad I was able to visit. The border patrol presence is definitely felt as you drive into the town which opens up to the reality of the conditions for people crossing the desert from Mexico. Water stations and numerous signs remind you that not everyone is out for a nature walk in the park.
